EPA completed the design installation for Spice & Barley at Riverside in Bangkok. Minor International were clear on their brief : to introduce innovation and eco-awareness, giving the new brand a local context – to an International design standard. The 3D structures were covered in gold-painted rattan to express the notion of “Asian fusion” in the design: streamlined and contextual.

The site overlooks Chao Priya River, with the two natural rattan structures acting as towers, in the reference to the skyscrapers in the backdrop. Vast geometries flood the ceiling in an uninterrupted balustrade of twists and turns, bouncing the light throughout the floor-to-ceiling glass façade and acting as a beacon from far away.
