Location: Perth, WA

Located in Perth, Western Australia, the house is a response to the surrounding landscape, echoing the movement of the nearby body of water and the slight topographical undulation. Both of the shapes that can be seen in the concrete were developed using a computer-aided terrain modeling program. The form is a non-parallel extension of the landscape below, digitally enhanced to provide accurate volumes depending on the spacial requirements underneath. The layout of the residence is made to allow light to wash over the concrete surface. This exposes the subtlety of the material and the piece’s slight curves.

The home consists of three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and two living rooms. Between the curves of the roof and the lack of 90 degree angles in the house, the house feels open and full of visual interest. The viewing deck on the roof offers beautiful views of the surrounding landscape.
